high-resolution, accurate mass Xevo MRT MS, provided by Waters is the only instrument in the market that meet all the specific and necessary technical requirements to fulfil the uncompromising needs of the acquiring department as follows:\n• Our previous methods for user specific needs have been developed on older generation of Waters QqQ instruments and/or developed on the Waters premier UHPLC and thus to ensure continuity of methods we would need to use the same manufacturer.\n• The new instrument needs to be upgradable to allow Desorption electrospray ionization (DESI) mass spectrometry imaging workflows.\n• The new instrument needs to be a high resolution time of flight mass spectrometry detector with with a mass resolution of at least 100,000 at full width half maximum with an MS speed of 50 MHz and an MS/MS speed of 100 MHz.\n• The new instrument must provide sub-ppm accuracy at these speeds and mass resolution\n• Our data processing pipelines rely on MzMine and open access MS data processing software first developed in Turku and therefore, the ability to rapidly directly export all possible MS acquisition types to mzML is required from the software.\n• The new instrument also needs to be upgradable to include the unispray ion source to integrate into some of our existing methods\n(see the Act on Public Procurement and Concession Contracts (1397/2016)
